Dear Reader,
On January 22nd, 2019 in Urbana, Ohio two paths were crossed. A normal
commute home suddenly became a tragic car accident involving Clayton “CJ” DeArmond Jr and a young thriving mother Courtney Cummings.
Two lives were lost on that cold winter night, and countless others were forever changed. By the grace of God
an adorable lively 2-year-old little girl by the name of Taylor survived the accident
with only a broken arm. Today, Taylor (pictured in the bottom left) is described as
an energetic 5-year-old with a lot of personality. On July 13, 2019 both
communities of Clark and Champaign counties came together hosting the 1st Annual
Clayton ‘CJ’ DeArmond Memorial Cornhole Tournament in which we were able to
raise just over $5,000 that was used to help assist Taylor and her father Corey
Pederson in Kansas City, Kansas who literally became a single father over night
following the events that took place that January night. In the years following we’ve struggled to reach that first year high due to the effects of Covid. This year under the title of our Nonprofit foundation we will be hosting
our 4th Annual Clayton “CJ” DeArmond Jr Cornhole Tournament on
Saturday October 22nd at The Cheetah Lounge located at 211 Glen Ave, Urbana Ohio.
